What Initiative Were Taken? : Food on Wheels

Details : “Food on Wheels” for the needy is an initiative taken by city administration to overcome the problem of starvation. This came into effect from 30th March, 2020. It caters people who cannot avail food for themselves like the migrant labors, beggars, differently-abled etc. This service is tagged with CM Daal Bhaat Yojna kendra which is set up in Ward 6, Singhi Dalan Townhall, Rajmahal, where people can come and have lunch in the Townhall. It has a seating facility maintaining the Social Distancing norms. “Food on Wheels” for the needy is being catered to people who cannot reach the Kendra. The service is completely free of cost. Outcome : It serves food to the needy ones Twice a day which includes a proper lunch of Rice, Daal & Soyabean vegetable and dinner which includes Roti and Aloo bhujiya. For easy handling and dispatch, the food items are prepared and packed maintaining basic hygiene.
